The CSSC NW North West Region Development Fund
1. Regions are allocated a small Development Fund (DF) budget so that they can respond to the extra needs of members within their Regions. Any member, members' group or Association may apply to their Region for a grant from the DF.
2. Allocation of grants is at the discretion of the NW Regional Council, via its elected Executive Committee, so there are no hard and fast national rules to adhere to, apart from certain restrictions listed below:-
The purchase of any computer equipment must be referred to the CSSC IT Manager, for advice and approval on price and specification.
No more than 40% of the membership based grant allocation for the year may be spent on any one bid and in the case of individual members the upper limit on payments should be £500.
3. Eligibility criteria - subject to the previous two restrictions we will consider an application / bid for a grant from a member or members group provided that it conforms to the ethos of CSSC and it can be demonstrated that there will be an identifiable and measurable benefit to our wider CSSC membership.
4. To apply, the member or group should submit an application using the draft application form (click here). Once completed in full it should be emailed to Sarah Kelly at CSSC Head Office who will then liaise with the Region. 5. The Region is expected to follow up any grants made to ensure that the funds have been spent on the item(s) specified in the bid so evidence of such expenditure must be provided to Sarah, once incurred.
6. If an application for a grant is refused there is an appeals procedure, any appeal should be sent to Sarah Kelly.
7. Departmental Associations (DAs) can apply for DF grants but these are normally referred to the Resources Committee. Please contact Sarah Kelly in the first instance to find out more.
