Ladies Golf Report 2006
On 16th June 2006 we held our qualifying competition for the National finals at Haydock Park Golf Club. We had 21 entrants from a variety of offices and from 18 different golf clubs in the region.
The event was contested on a pleasant park land course which was in very good condition and was enjoyed by all the contestants.
The results were as follows:-
- Best Gross, Chris Appleby (Land Registry) and a member of Preston GC (H/cap 4)
- Best Net, Joyce Crook (Retired), and a member of Haydock Park GC (H/cap 27)
- 2nd Net, Hilary Craven (HMRC), and a member of Bramhall Golf Club (H/cap 10)

Unfortunately Joyce's handicap was too high to enable her to qualify for the National Final at The Vale Golf and Spa Resort, Cardiff, so the North West's two representatives were Chris Appleby and Hilary Craven.
Congratulations to Chris who became the Scratch Champion against some tough opposition over the 36 hole competition.

We continue to keep the flag flying for Ladies Golf in the North West; I only wish other regions were as enthusiastic as we are as only six regions were represented at the National Finals.
course has been booked for the 2007 competition, and it is being played at Childwall Golf Club on Friday 29th June.
